What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness we naturally enter many times a day. You access a similar state between 4 and 8 times every hour, and also when you drift down to sleep or drift up in the morning. Therapeutic hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis. Hypnosis is similar to meditation except that you have an experienced therapist to guide you.

Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist. You journey into the most creative and imaginative part of your mind. It is your subconscious mind which allows for change.

Is it safe to go into hypnosis?

Absolutely! You decide how deep it is comfortable to go. It is your experience and you are in control throughout. You will only adopt suggestions which are acceptable to you.

What does it feel like?

Trance is a pleasant and totally natural state like day-dreaming. People are often in a hypnotic state when driving or watching TV, relaxing on a beach or in the shower!

Everyone's experience is unique. Some people feel they experience increased awareness whilst others drift away thinking their own thoughts. You feel safe, calm and relaxed. This is because you release endorphins and other natural chemicals which give you an overall sense of well being. Many people find this completely refreshing and some people find it is the first time in years that they have experienced such wonderful levels of calm.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is unique and the number of sessions varies depending on what you want to change. Hypnosis helps you get right to the root of the issue.

As a general guide, plan for three sessions and a review.
I teach every client how to use visualization - you strengthen and continue the transformation so it filters into other areas of your life.

I am more than happy to answer any further questions you have and discuss the wonderful freedom you will experience. Hypnotherapy can bring rapid and amazing results improving your well-being and the quality of your life and your levels of achievement.
